SNP would like to thank everyone for celebrating National School Lunch Week. There were VCS Superintendents, Principals, City Officials, SNP Retirees, and local Pastors who came to the schools to help serve. The cafeteria staff were showered with an abundance of thank you cards, gifts, snacks and decorative posters. Our hearts are overjoyed with the love shown to the best School Nutrition Staff around.

During the 2023 Winnersville Classic, regrettable incidents took place before, during, and after the game. These incidents are currently under investigation and will be dealt with appropriately. We take immense pride in our community, particularly in our sports teams, and we are committed to enhancing our bonds for the benefit of all residents in Valdosta and Lowndes County. We sincerely appreciate your unwavering dedication and support for our students.

SNP has started the 2023-24 school year off with two 100 food safety scores. We have survived a hurricane with the help of our SNP warehouse heroes Steve Akins, Anthony Belcastro, and Desmond Whiteside. They weathered the storm by transporting food from the schools to the main warehouse saving the day.

Students return to school on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 following the closures due to Hurricane Idalia. All bus stops will remain the same. Please be patient as some routes may be a little delayed in the mornings and afternoons. We appreciate everyone working together to bring our students back into our schools.


Valdosta City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 31, due to widespread power outages and trees down across Valdosta-Lowndes County. District staff have limited access to communication tools but will work closely with Lowndes County Emergency Management to provide updates.
