Yesterday, our district team leaders studied "Poverty and its Impact on Education" which was presented by Dr. Craig Lockhart, Superintendent of Valdosta City Schools. Afterwards, we took a field trip to Second Harvest of South Georgia. Through this activity, our educational leaders learned valuable resources they can offer to students and teachers who are in need of assistance. Not only does Second Harvest of South Georgia provide meals for millions of families, but they also have a program called "Teachers' Harvest". This is a phenomenal resource for our teachers to address the needs of every student. Through partnering with Second Harvest, we strive to take kids from "at-risk" to "at-promise".

Congratulations Jennifer Steedley on receiving Willie the Wildcat for November 2023! During our monthly District Leadership Team Meeting, "Willie the Wildcat" Award is given to the one who is deemed most attentive and interactive during the session. Dr. Tret Witherspoon, principal of J.L. Lomax, presented this award and noted how appreciative we all are of her work. Jennifer goes above and beyond expectations to bring faculty and students together and highlights their amazing achievements. SNP has started the 2023-24 school year off with two 100 food safety scores. We have survived a hurricane with the help of our SNP warehouse heroes Steve Akins, Anthony Belcastro, and Desmond Whiteside. They weathered the storm by transporting food from the schools to the main warehouse saving the day.
Enjoy your Fall Break! See you all on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.
