Valdosta City Schools is pleased to announce a special Meet and Greet event with the newly appointed principal of Valdosta High School, Dr. Johnnie Marshall. The event will take place in the cafeteria of Valdosta High School Thursday, November 30, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Attendees should drive to the back side of campus and park near the VHS tennis courts. The cafeteria entrance is up the sidewalk where you see the curved awning.
Dr. Johnnie Marshall brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education to Valdosta High School. He has spent his entire educational career in Valdosta City Schools working on the campus of Valdosta Early College Academy. Marshall began there as a student teacher, working his way up from teacher to assistant principal and eventually principal of the school. He began his new role at VHS in October.
The Meet and Greet offers an opportunity for the community, parents, teachers, and students to get to know Dr. Marshall personally and learn more about his vision and plans for the future of Valdosta High School.
"I look forward to bringing everyone on campus to meet Dr. Marshall. This will give our stakeholders, teachers, parents and students a chance to see exactly why our search committee felt that he was the right person to lead Valdosta High School. This event will provide our community an opportunity to connect with him on a personal level while learning more about his vision to take VHS to exceptional levels of success in the classroom and beyond," said Dr. Craig Lockhart, superintendent of Valdosta City Schools.
