Dear Valdosta City School Families,
At approximately 3:30 am this morning, the district was notified that flash flooding has made many of our roads in the city impassable. With the rain continuing to fall, local authorities have deemed that travel on these roads is too dangerous for school buses and other vehicles.
Due to our inability to safely transport students to school and the timing of this event, Valdosta City Schools will be closed Thursday, November 7, 2024. We apologize for this late notice as this is an unexpected emergency that is still developing. We will provide more details once we learn more. Your understanding is greatly appreciated.

Served up this deliciousness for our Valdosta High School students on #WildcatWednesday. The School Nutrition Program is fueling these students up for a Winnersville Classic victory!

Valdosta's allotment of tickets for the 2024 Winnersville Classic is officially sold out. Limited tickets are still available through Lowndes County Schools at the Lowndes Board of Education office. #GoCats

Valdosta High Floral Design student Addison Wallace, created these lovely arrangements, using flowers that have been covered during the classes Floral and Foliage Identification unit. This is Addison's second year working with flowers at Valdosta High School and was given creative freedom with these arrangements. We enjoy giving student hands on learning experiences that can give them valuable employment skill in the feature.

SL Mason students attended the VCS STEAM Day at the VSU STEAM Center. Students competed against other elementary and middle school students from the district in robotics, art and the science fair. We are so proud of all participants!

School Lunch Hero Day was May 3, 2024. Hero Day is a day to acknowledge some wonderful, hardworking, and caring VCS Nutrition staff. The staff prepares healthy meals daily with a smile on their face and in their hearts. The VCS Nutrition Program would like to give a great big thank you to the nutrition staff for all that you do for the Wildcat family.

Valdosta City School Nutrition Program is looking to add new food items to the menu for the 2024-25 school term. A few amazing students from JL Lomax tasted one of the items and gave two thumbs up. Looks like one item received the stamp of approval.
