🔔EARLY DISMISSAL🔔 Friday, September 15th. More information detailing specific dismissal times for car riders, daycare riders, and bus riders will be brought home soon. If your child's normal mode of transportation changes, please notify your child's teacher as soon as possible to ensure a safe pick-up or drop-off. Students return to school on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 following the closures due to Hurricane Idalia. All bus stops will remain the same. Please be patient as some routes may be a little delayed in the mornings and afternoons. We appreciate everyone working together to bring our students back into our schools.

Due to our current circumstances, we are postponing our events that were scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 5th, till a later date. We are kissing our SME Families!

Valdosta City Schools will remain closed on Thursday, August 31, due to widespread power outages and trees down across Valdosta-Lowndes County. District staff have limited access to communication tools but will work closely with Lowndes County Emergency Management to provide updates.

Sallas Mahone will be closed tomorrow as well. VCS will need time to assess damage, restore power, and clear roads. We will take it one day at a time. Check on each other. Y’all be safe.

🔔YEARBOOK DELIVERY🔔 First, and foremost, thank you for your patience as we have navigated through a transition in our PTO! If you are a verified purchaser of the 22-23 yearbook and your child is currently attending SME, your child will receive and bring home their yearbooks TODAY! If your child is now attending VMS and a verified purchaser, yearbooks will be delivered to the middle school today. These should be distributed within the middle school within the next couple of days. If your child is no longer at our school and you are a verified purchaser, but you are still located in the Valdosta area, you may come to our front office to pick up your yearbook. If your family has moved out of town, please contact the front office to verify purchase and discuss the best mode of delivery.
