Valdosta City Schools recently recognized all of its first-year teachers and new teachers to the district with a VCS Teacher Induction Celebration! With great support from Superintendent Dr. Craig Lockhart, the Teaching & Learning department, and all schools, a joyous occasion was had. Teachers were given a soul-stirring, inspirational message from Dr. LaConya McCrae, Director of Special Education, and every new teacher was praised for their hard work and care given to our students this semester. There were also awards given to teachers with the highest attendance from each school, and gifts of appreciation were provided for mentor teachers. The celebration closed with Dr. Christie Earle of Human Resources, providing our teachers with well wishes for the holiday and a mission forward towards 2025! We also thank Mrs. Tangela Kimber and Dr. Joyce Dean for their pivital role in making this event a success. We cannot wait to see these teachers continue to thrive next semester!
