Last week, staff and students had the opportunity to say their farewells and best wishes to Dr. Alvarez, Principal of Valdosta Early College Academy. Earlier this month, the Wheeler County Board of Education voted unanimously to name Dr. C. Alex Alvarez as the next superintendent of Wheeler County Schools.
Dr. Alvarez has twenty-two years of public education experience and has served as a teacher, head coach, principal, and district leader in Valdosta City Schools, Rockdale County Public Schools, and Cobb County School District.
While he will be greatly missed among students and colleagues, we wish him continued success and fulfillment in this exciting new chapter of his career.
