Greetings Wildcat Nation!
I hope this message finds you and your family in good spirits and well following the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. As we prepare to reopen school on Tuesday, October 8, please review the plans and our Wildcat Weekly below. Our district will implement the late arrival schedule. VHS will begin at 10:05 a.m. Our doors will open for car riders, student drivers, and bus riders at 9:30 a.m. Dismissal will remain the same at 3:25 p.m. We expect an increase in car rider drop off, so we ask for your patience and understanding as we unload students safely.
Bus Routes: Bus routes will begin at 9:00 a.m. for high school students to avoid hazards such as debris and downed traffic signals that are hard to see before sunrise. Some bus stops may be unreachable, and exact pickup times are not possible. We are asking for students to be at their stops or in an area that is accessible nearest the regular bus stop by 8:35 am with the understanding that they might experience longer waits. Families are welcome to drive students if preferred.
Our modified bell schedule is below. Also, please click the link to access our Wildcat Weekly https://5il.co/2ycx0.
We understand that some of our Wildcat families are still experiencing power outages and restoration efforts following the hurricane. Our school is committed to practicing compassion over compliance. I want to thank our VHS Wildcat Nation who assisted in recovery efforts with local agencies. Your service and kindness truly illuminate the Wildcat spirit.
We look forward to welcoming our Wildcat scholars back to VHS on Tuesday, October 8!
Together, we are stronger. Let’s continue to support one another during this time.
