Valdosta High School Partner with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College to Offer Pre-nursing Program
Valdosta High School will implement a new pre-nursing program this fall. “This program will provide students with valuable opportunities to explore and prepare for a career in nursing. Offering a pre-nursing program at Valdosta High is a great initiative. Preparing students who are interested in pursuing a career in nursing can be immensely beneficial for both the students and the community,” said Principal Dr. Janice Richardson.
A pre-nursing program typically offers foundational coursework and experiences that can help students develop the necessary knowledge and skills to pursue a nursing degree in the future. Students who participate in this program will gain a valuable head start in their journey toward becoming a nurse and make informed decisions about their future career. It also helps address the growing demand for qualified healthcare professionals, as nursing continues to be a critical and rewarding profession.
Valdosta High School is partnering with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College to offer this program. It's important to ensure that the pre-nursing program at Valdosta High aligns with the requirements and expectations of colleges and universities offering nursing programs. Collaboration with Wiregrass Georgia Technical College nursing program is valuable in developing a curriculum that meets those requirements. Additionally, providing students with guidance and support in the college application process can help them transition smoothly from high school to higher education.
“Overall, the pre-nursing program at Valdosta High has the potential to make a positive impact on students' lives and contribute to the healthcare workforce in the community. It's an exciting opportunity for our students interested in pursuing a nursing career, and it demonstrates the commitment of Valdosta High to offer diverse and valuable educational opportunities," said Dr. Richardson.
