Earlier this morning, Monday, September 26, there were two separate incidents involving students of Valdosta City Schools that were unrelated to our school district. These students were at or near their bus stops preparing to come to school.
Both students were involved in altercations that did result in injuries. The students have been transported to South Georgia Medical Center and are being treated for their injuries.
Valdosta City Schools is continuing to work with the Valdosta Police Department as they investigate this morning's incidents. Again, these unfortunate incidents were not related to our school system. We thank our first responders and transportation employees who acted swiftly for the safety of the students that were in these areas.
There have been no threats on any of our school campuses and our normal school activity was never interrupted. Our thoughts are with our students who were involved this morning, as well as with their families.
This information was sent out to VCS families via our email/text alert system. If you did not receive the messages, please call your student's school to update your contact information on record.
