Last week, representatives from our middle schools and high school attended the annual AVID Summer Institute in Orlando, Florida. AVID stands for "Advancement Via Individual Determination". Throughout the week, these educators learned how to leverage high-impact teaching strategies to help students tackle tough coursework. This team also collaborated to establish a more seamless transition from middle school to high school, encourage more enrollment in advanced courses, and provide more access to the AVID program for students and families. If you want more information on the AVID program, reach out to your child's school or Dr. Matt Cribbs at the district office.
