Final Winter Storm Update

Dear Families,

We’ve heard from many of you and want to offer our support as we move forward together. Valdosta City Schools will reopen on Friday, January 24, 2025. We understand that our community is still thawing out from Winter Storm Enzo, and we remain committed to providing a safe, warm environment for our students. At school, they’ll receive two meals, the love and care of our Wildcat family, and a sense of normalcy after this winter weather event. We also can’t wait to hear all about their snow day adventures—something we don’t get to experience often!

We know some families may still need more time. Parents may choose to bring their students to school later in the day or keep them home. For those returning, we urge everyone to exercise caution while traveling to school. Parents, please remind your teenage drivers to take their time and prioritize driving safety; tardies will not be counted for late arrivals tomorrow throughout the district.

Additionally, we ask everyone to use caution when entering school buildings, as walkways and entrances may remain slippery in some areas.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing our students back in class and getting back into our routine!

Stay safe,
Valdosta City Schools
