The Valdosta High School FFA Chapter recently showcased their skills at the South Region Nursery Landscape Career Development Event (CDE), competing against other chapters in the South Region. The team, consisting of Frank Soriano, Violet Bolme, Sanae Saleem, Adrienne Sullivan, demonstrated their knowledge and expertise in various aspects of the nursery and landscape industry.
The Nursery/Landscape CDE challenges participants in plant identification, diagnosing plant disorders, and applying hands-on problem-solving techniques. Additionally, competitors complete a written exam covering topics such as landscape plant production, design, installation, and maintenance, as well as related products, equipment, and services.
Thanks to their outstanding performance, by placing first in area 6, the team has earned a spot at the State Nursery Landscape CDE, set to take place on March 21-22 in Covington, GA.
The team was coached by Vyctoria Wayne, FFA Advisor at Valdosta High School.
