Group photo of Foster Grandparents, Staff and other visitors from Senator Warnock's team

On January 13, 2025, we had the honor of hosting a special visit from the Foster Grandparent Program at Pinevale Elementary School. We were joined by Elaine Baker, Project Director for the program, along with Ms. Grace McCray, Program Coordinator, and Ms. Kenya Baker, Program Coordinator. Also present was Dr. Ronnie Mathis, Executive Director of Senior Volunteer Connection, and Mr. Adrian Rivers, SW GA Outreach Representative from the Office of Senator Reverend Warnock.

The Foster Grandparent Program, part of AmeriCorps Seniors, provides older adults (55+) the opportunity to serve as mentors, tutors, and caregivers to students. These dedicated individuals give 20 hours a week to support children in schools, daycare centers, hospitals, and more. We were proud to show Mr. Rivers the incredible work being done by the Foster Grandparents here at Pinevale and the positive impact they’re making in the lives of our students.

Thank you to all who visited and continue to support the wonderful work of the Foster Grandparents! For more information, visit www.sgaseniorvolunteers.com or follow Senior Volunteer Connection on Facebook.
