Valdosta City Schools is proud to implement Leader in Me, a transformational leadership model that is reshaping our students' educational journey and inspiring lifelong skills. Through Leader in Me, we’re embedding the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People into our culture, helping students develop confidence, accountability, and a sense of purpose.
J.L. Newbern Middle School's N.I.C.E program was designed to offer students the opportunity to learn and develop skills such as leadership, problem solving, communication, critical thinking, and other skills that should be displayed at school and in the community. For example, students are given the task such as assisting new students with finding their homerooms and/or connection classes. One of the goals is for students to display and demonstrate respect for self and others at all times regardless of differences.
Way to go NMS! We look forward to sharing how all of our schools have been implementing Leader in Me.
