7th graders sitting on football field watching movie

7th graders at Valdosta Middle School celebrated the end of a cross curricular novel study of Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly by watching the movie at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. Science, Social Studies, and Math teachers collaborated by providing lessons on topics linked to the novel such as the NASA space program, segregation, etc. Students were served popcorn and drinks and enjoyed watching the movie with their classmates. Special thanks to all of the 7th grade teachers for working so hard on making this happen!

They also got to tour the new Wildcats on Wheels bus. VMS presented a copy of the featured book to be donated to the WoW bus. Thank you to our staff and community for working so hard to have this bus ready for our district Trunk or Treat next week!
