Dr. Alissa Sasser, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, attended the Georgia Council on Literacy meeting yesterday at Kennesaw State. She is pictured here with Georgia Literacy Coach, Miranda Williams, who was appointed by Governor Kemp to assist in the facilitation of the Council’s work.
The Literacy Council was formed in response to Senate Bill 211 and was signed into law by Governor Kemp last Spring. The main objective of this group is to improve early literacy rates in our state. Dr. Sasser has been selected to be a part of one of the four working committees that supports the work of the Literacy Council.
