Valdosta City Schools online registration is now open for the 2025-2026 school year. Families of new students, including those enrolling in PreK and Kindergarten, can begin the registration process by clicking here: 2025-2026 Online Registration Application.
In-Person Registration (2025-2026): Please contact or visit your zoned school to schedule an appointment. The application and all forms are available at the bottom of this page for downloading and printing or you may pick them up from the school. You must bring the completed registration application, associated forms, and the required documents to your appointment.

🏫 PreK and Kindergarten registration is for students living in the J. L. Lomax Elementary School, Pinevale Elementary School, Sallas Mahone Elementary School, S. L. Mason Elementary School, and W.G. Nunn Elementary School zones.
ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS
All students enrolling in Valdosta City Schools, must reside within the Valdosta City limits with their parents or legal guardians, and meet the age requirements as established by state law.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade: Students entering the Georgia public school system for the first time must be five (5) years old on or before September 1st to enter Kindergarten and six years old on or before September 1st to enter first grade. If the student was a legal resident of one or more states for a period of two years immediately before moving to Georgia and who was legally enrolled in either a public Kindergarten or first grade or a private Kindergarten or first grade accredited by a state or regional association, would be eligible to enroll in Georgia schools, provided that the Kindergartner is five years old by December 31 or the first grader is six by that date.
PreK- Georgia’s Pre-K Program is a state lottery-funded educational program for all age-eligible 4-year-old children in Georgia. The purpose of Georgia’s Pre-K Program is to prepare children for success in Kindergarten and later school years. Students must be 4 years old on or before September 1st and be residents of the state of Georgia. Students who are currently attending Pre-K in Valdosta City Schools do not need to register for Kindergarten.
Valdosta City Schools offers open and nondiscriminatory enrollment. Children will not be denied participation in educational programs on the basis of race, color, or national origin (Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964); sex (Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 and Title II of the Vocational Education Amendments of 1976); or disability (Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990).

PHOTO ID OF PARENT/GUARDIAN: If you are not the student’s parent or guardian, i.e., an “other person” such as a grandparent or other relative, you must complete the Kinship Caregiver Affidavit which can be downloaded below
CERTIFIED/OFFICIAL COPY OF STUDENT'S BIRTH CERTIFICATE
SOCIAL SECURITY CARD: In accordance with Georgia law, a social security number will be requested for each enrolling student at the time of the initial enrollment. Parents may choose not to provide a social security number by signing a waiver.
GA CERTIFICATE OF IMMUNIZATION (Form 3231): Georgia Law requires children attending school (Kindergarten – 12th grade) to be age-appropriately immunized with all the required vaccines at the time of first entry in school. Immunization forms from other states must be transferred to the Georgia form.
GA CERTIFICATE OF VISION, HEARING DENTAL, AND NUTRITION SCREENING (Form 3300): A student, regardless of grade level, who has never been in a Georgia public school must provide certification of eye, ear, dental and nutrition examinations on the Georgia Department of Human Resources Form 3300
ONE (1) PROOF OF RESIDENCY
Utility Bill (electric, water, gas, cable, or internet): Current utility bill or connection receipt and must be no more than 30 days old (no disconnection or pending disconnection bills), and the document must be in parent/legal guardian's name, include the address, and the company's name.

ADDRESS CHANGES
If you have moved and need to change your address, please complete the Change of Address form (bottom of page) and submit it to our office. You must provide one (1) proof of your new address, Please see the "Required Document" section for acceptable proof of residency
