

Valdosta City Schools Foundation Classified Employee Scholarship
The Valdosta City Schools Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a current VCS employee pursuing a bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university. Recipients must return to VCS for the 2025-26 school year. If the recipient leaves VCS within three years, the scholarship must be repaid within 30 days of resignation.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be employed by Valdosta City Schools, Valdosta Board of Education, or ESS.
Must be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school (unofficial transcripts required).
Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Must return to VCS for the 2025-26 school year.
Extra points awarded for years of service with VCS.
Application Requirements:
Completed application (incomplete applications will not be considered).
Unofficial transcript from current college/university.
Personal essay outlining:
Reasons for pursuing an advanced degree.
College and career goals.
How they inspire students and maintain that inspiration.
Letter(s) of recommendation (at least one from a principal, assistant principal, department head, or lead teacher) addressing the applicant’s potential for success.
Selection Process:
Eligible applicants will be evaluated based on:
Scholarship criteria and application completion.
College planning and preparation.
Essay quality and content.
GPA as reported in the transcript.
Deadline:
Applications must be submitted by May 16, 2025. Applicants will receive a PDF confirmation via email and should contact the VCS Foundation, Inc. if any errors arise before the deadline.

The Valdosta City Schools Foundation is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a current VCS teacher pursuing a master’s or higher-level degree from an accredited college or university. Recipients must return to VCS for the 2025-26 school year. If the recipient leaves VCS within three years, the scholarship must be repaid within 30 days of resignation.
