Cognia External Review
The Cognia Engagement Review Team concluded their remote visit with Valdosta City Schools on February 18, 2021. Based on their findings and the recommendation of the Cognia Engagement Review Team and Cognia Accreditation Office, a five-year accreditation term was approved and conferred by the Cognia Global Commission on June 14-15, 2021. This means that the district and all of its schools are accredited and that Valdosta City Schools is recognized across the nation as a quality school system.
The Valdosta City Schools Cognia System Accreditation Engagement Review highlights the Engagement Review Process. The Engagement Review Team identified Strengths and Opportunities to guide the improvement journey for the system. Most importantly, the Review Team's results on the overall Index of Educational Quality (IEQ) score and domains showed that Valdosta City Schools was rated well above the world averages in all areas. The System Accreditation Engagement Review Report is attached below.
District Accreditation, as conferred by the Cognia Global Commission, provides Valdosta City Schools an internationally recognized mark of quality for our district and all the schools within our district. It demonstrates to our community our commitment to excellence, our openness to external review and feedback, and our desire to be the best we can be on behalf of the students we serve.
