VCS Meals for Students During Helene Recovery

Valdosta City Schools will be distributing shelf stable meals to students on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.  The distribution of these meals will be at the Valdosta Board of Education from the School Nutrition Department beginning at 11:00 am until supplies are depleted.  We are asking that everyone enter from the Slater Street end of the block, look for the volunteers to guide traffic flow.  

The system will have meal bags ready for distribution on a first come, first serve basis.  Please have your student(s) with you or be prepared to give your student(s) school ID number during pick up.

Follow these traffic guidelines to keep the flow of traffic moving and in a safe area:

From Patterson, turn onto Brookwood Drive (towards Bazemore-Hyder Stadium), take a right on Slater Street, look for VCS volunteers. You'll then take the second left into the VBOE parking lot, follow the traffic up to the School Nutrition warehouse. You will then take a right into the upper parking lot, exiting back on to Slater Street. Take a right on to Ann Street and then make your way back to Patterson Street. Again, we will have volunteers to assist with the proper flow of traffic. We appreciate everyone's attention to downed trees, traffic signals and power lines in this area.
