The Director of Public Relations for Valdosta City Schools has the following duties for the district:

• Develops or assists in the development of all official district publications (Annual Report, Community Partners in Education materials, Facts and Figures, and the Student Code of Conduct)

• Coordinates all advertising for the district

• Develops and distributes all press releases on behalf of the Superintendent and the district

• Handles all media relations including the coordination of media interviews, photography requests, and radio show appearances; also documents all inquiries and archives published articles

• Assists in collection and distribution of district report card, testing and survey data

• Coordinates special events such as dedication ceremonies, Retiree Reception and Teacher of the Year program

• Serves as the Community Partners in Education district coordinator

• Maintains all social media sites for the district (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
